12 and a Half Rules
1. If you write every day, you get better at writing every day. 2. If it's boring to you, it's boring to your reader. Get creative. 3. Get a writing routine, and stick with it. 4. Poetry does NOT have to rhyme. 5. Resist stereotypes, both in real life and in your writing. Think different. 6. Writers read. Writers read a lot. Writers read all the time. 7. Make lists of your favorite words and books and places and things and people. 8. There doesn't always have to be a moral to the story.... 9. Always bring your notebook. Always bring a spare pen. 10. Go for walks. Dance. Pull weeds. Do the dishes. Write about it. 11. Don't settle on just one style. Experiment. 12. Learn to tell both sides of the story. And the half. Stop looking at this. Write something!

Writing Process
1. Brainstorm and Outline!
Jot down your ideas. Take some time to think about what will get you writing.
2. Drafting (NFL style)
Alright, take those ideas and outline and put them into sentences your reader will understand now.
3. Peer Revising
"Hmmm. . don't make sense." This is where you play around with what you have and rearrange ideas to help clarify things for your reader. Get a peer reviser -- let them give you comments and suggestions from the reader's point of view.
4. Peer Edit
This is wehre u make shure ur paper is spellt correcdly. The hardest part of the paper is finding WHAT to write. Now you just clean it up and make sure it's written correctly in grammar and punctuation. (All that fun stuff!) ;)
5. Publish!!
Yep. That's right. Don't believe me? THIS is when you have fun. Finish your paper in blue or black ink and then add some pictures, color in a border . . . live a little
